DEVELOPING PERSONAL,

ENDURING CONNECTIONS TO SPACE.

Concept Design

An in - depth study into site, contextual opportunities, and limitations, and introduced influences that will affect early planning and design development. At this stage, the client brief is key to navigating an initial response. Outcomes are presented as a mixed - media investigation in plan, 3D mass, sketch elevation or animation.

1

Design Development

Once a design trajectory has been established, the project is worked up in greater detail utilising perspective visualisation. Textural and material research is overlaid and integrated into the concept.

2

Planning Approvals

From here, the refined concept is documented to a standard for Development Application or Complying Development submission. We are well versed in the interpretation of planning controls, and collaborate with council and external consultants as required to achieve approval.

3

Construction Documentation

This stage is spearheaded by an interior - centric materials, fittings and fixtures development process involving detailed perspective visualisations showcasing final design resolution. Our documentation reflects our macro to micro approach to each project which ensures clarity and transparency. 3D visualisation, axonometric details and perspectives are a standard part of our hand over set.

4

Tender

The completed Construction Documentation set is handed over to a select few contractors for detailed pricing. We facilitate negotiation between client and contractor to remain on budget and ensure buildability.

5

Construction Administration

We are building! Our involvement at this stage is to maintain constant, detailed communication with the contractor weekly (sometimes daily), to ensure the design is realised to full capacity. We conduct regular site visits and keep check on all components of the signed contract. Site notes and progress updates are clear and detailed, allowing you to receive project updates remotely.

Terrace House

Kinship

Gadigal Country

An exercise in maximising spatial potential within a typical eastern suburbs semi - detached typology. A contemporary rear addition adopting a hardwood screened cloak to the first floor, harmonising with the surrounding tree lined streetscape.

Featuring a conservative floorplate, alternative strategies were investigated to create hierarchy and layered vertical character along an open plan. The ceiling internally becomes a primary focal point - a reinterpretation of a modern vault and coffer over the kitchen and living. This theme is extended to the first floor where ceiling and wall unite, drawing down to distinctly define the family study and providing partial enclosure and flexible overhead shelving.
